Advanced Research Center is available after Gas Burner and should be switched to as soon as possible, as it uses the same upgrades that regular Research Center does, while producing eight times more research points per tick. Really, as soon as it becomes affordable, all Research centers should be upgraded to these. There`s no downside to doing so.
While the heat tolerance is up to 100 instead of measly 1 of regular Research Center, 100 heat will be a chump change by the time 10M $ are accrued in game. Don`t pay this supposed upgrade any heed - this component is not for heating. This research center can be upgraded to the Super Research Center before curium reactor.
